Hey everyone. Just got back from church and a meeting at Round Table Pizza.
My school is having some students go to E3 Expo again. http://www.e3expo.com/ I went last year but this year I'm not that motivated to go. Having to register, then finding rides, blah blah blah. Not that it's much of a hassle but I just don't feel like putting that much effort into something I'm not 100% interested in. I'm more like at 57%.
That reminds me of something that's been on my mind lately. You know the saying "You can be anything that you want to be"? I was thinking if there was any truth in that. I think it's true IF your heart is fully dedicated and God is on your side. I know thats a very Christian way of putting it but that's because I AM a Christian! Makes sense right? So first thing: If your heart is fully in it. If you are willing to go through fire and flames to reach a goal, I think you can do it if your willing to make sacrifices. Like Rudy. If you haven't seen Rudy you really should! It's a good movie. He wanted so bad to play at least one game of football for Notre Dame. He was small and had a small learning disability so it seemed really slim for him to even get into Notre Dame. But he kept pushing forward even after being rejected so many times. He didn't let anything stop him! If your THAT motivated, you can reach your goal. Secondly, if God is on your side. The Bible says that we can "do everything through Christ, who gives us the strength." Key word is 'through Christ'. If God can do anything he wants, however he wants to do it, he can fulfill your dream. But that is, if your dream is what God wants for your life. If your dream in life is to rob casinos, chances are that's not something God put on your heart. That's something that your flesh and your own mind wants to do. But if you have a strong desire to be a famous singer, start a business, or run for president, first thing you should do before you get the ball rolling is ask God if HE'S the one that put it on your heart to be a professional baseball player, or start a band, or become a famous writer. If you know that God put that desire in your heart and you decide that you will stop at nothing to reach that goal, then you can be anything you want to be.
Now what if God puts a desire in your heart and you try to do it and you really stink at it? Like Nacho Libre. He really felt that the Lord put it in his heart to wrestle, but he couldn't even fight a couple guys on the street. He got paid to wrestle in matches but he would always lose and he would always spend his losing money on 'nice boots and stretchy pants'. Once Nacho decided to pray to the Lord and ask him why he put it on his heart to wrestle but made him such a stinky warrior, he realized that the Lord wanted him to fight for the orphans, who were also on Nacho's heart. He decided to wrestle for the orphans instead of himself, spending the money on nice clothes and stretchy pants. He decided that if he won, he would spend the winning money for the orphans to go on field trips and things like that. Once he realized that he needed to fight for a noble cause instead of for himself, he won a match against the greatest fighter in mexico: Ramses!
Anyways, I'm kinda going off now but I guess my main point is; if you feel that God has put something on your heart, be in prayer and ask the Lord what he wants you to do and ask the Lord for strength, because He can help you overcome the obstacles. If you have anything you want to add or comment on, please do so. Thanks and have a nice week!
